i had egg whites for breakfast today. i normally eat 3 eggs for breakfast, but i guess that's not entirely healthy to do on a very regular basis.

i'm not sure if i like 'em or not. i used one real egg to make sure it still had some color to it.

anyone else like them? ...they also cook faster and stick to the damn pan.

I don't really care for them alone. I'll use one full egg and two whites and I like the taste of that.

i don't know. it still says it has all the protein, minus the cholestorol. mom just thought it might be a good idea.

i know. to make chicken.

but, i just have a hard time thinking that eating 900 eggs a year is a really healthy thing to do...

even if it's balanced out with all natural pb'd toast (topped with almonds), and a hand full of fresh spinach.

so do you think i should actually worry about the cholestoral?

the key part being that i really am eating them just about everyday.

Right. Live life and enjoy it. You never know what's around the corner.

(This hits a little closer considering a 44yo motorcyclist was killed right outside my front door in an accident on Monday morning. I didn't hear it happen, but I was there as the ambulance showed up. He left behind a wife and 2 kids, a HS senior and a 7th grader Sad )

Yep you're right.

Besides, this stage will probably pass and you'll want something different for breakfast before too long.

If I remember right, you are well within your weight range and you are physically active, and unless your family has serious cholesterol issues, I think you're ok. It's far better than eating junk food.

When I was doing a lot of high intensity weight lifting and running, I was eating between 4-6 eggs a day (with 1 yolk for taste, since the whites are where the protein come from). During this time, I took a flight physical and my cholesterol came up normal.

Since I've slowed down some on the PT, I have turned down to 1-2 egg whites (with the added yolk for taste) and a piece of toast for breakfast (I don't run/workout until the afternoons now).

I've shifted over to grape nuts (yum) and low fat cottage cheese in the a'noon. A poster made a good point, most ppl don't stick to them forever (although I like them a lot).

Cooking advise: I use pam and a non stick pan.

Alternate between eggs and oatmeal. It's a cholesterol rollercoaster!

I find with my energy needs I need the extra carbs and protein or I will lose too much weight or feel sluggish.
