Do they really count for you anymore? I realized today that they don't cuz it was like a different era in my life...

So, I've thrown out the old records and started new!

How about you?

Different era, different type of training, much younger. HS pr's are a thing of the past.

I think these days I am a smarter runner. There is more information out there about nutrition, etc.

For you, Joel, I am deleting my high school prs from my profile. Good idea.

One of my goals is to beat my high school 5k PR. It is part of the decade of Paul and being ultra competitive with myself. Otherwise I would agree High school PR's don't count now.

Since you couldn't have paid me to run in HS, I don't have any pr's from that era that involve running.

The only PR's I set were in alcohol consumption and I'm not about to try to beat those.

I wish I still had the speed I had in high school!

I used to go out and do a 6 miler and come in averaging like 6:40 a mile, and feel good. Not exhausted, good!

If I run a 10K @ 6:40 a mile now, I am beyond estatic! And completely wiped out!

I thought I'd never touch my HS times again, especially something like my 5km time which was what every cc race was. But lo and behold 2 years back, everything fell in place and I cracked it. So I still feel the possibility that new PRs are out there for a few more years.
