It is such a pain to find pants that fit when you are tall. Womens sizer are stupid because unless they come in different lengths (most don't) they are just the usual 6, 8, 10 which of course makes no sense! I get lots of stuff at Lerner New York. They have pants in long lenths which is a must for me. The Limited and Old Navy (some) also has long lenght pants. But I don't know that they would be long enough for 36" inseam, I think the longs are usually like 31 or 32, maybe 33.
Just wondering, do they measure women's inseam different than men's? Because my hubby is 6'7" and needs a 36 to 38 inseam, is your mom that tall??? Wowsa!

Old Navy and Ann have talls? This might be easier than expected! Lerner's is also a great idea (maybe more in my price range!)--thanks! My mom usually shops at JCPenney's, and I know she gets a catalog called 'long elegant legs'. I'm just glad I (unlike my sisters) didn't inherit my parents' height and have no trouble getting pants.
Yeah Molly it does sound weird, and now that you say that my 6'4" dad I think has a shorter inseam than she does. My mom is 5'11" and all legs. But I think women typically have shorter torsos that men maybe? Because tall or no women can usually wear the same length shirts (ignoring sleeves of course) but their legs are just longer, or so it seems to me whereas my dad needs 'tall' sized shirts. I have a girlfriend who is 6' and another who is 6'3" who both have 37" inseams, a friend who is 5'9" with a 35" inseam and I'm 5'7" and probably wear a 32". I was very enlightened on a shopping trip one day.

My mom is taller than the average chick, and there is a lady here at work who is rather tall as well. They both shop at Eddie Bauer.

At NY & Co and they have short, average, and tall pant sizes. I wear the average, and they're on the long side which is good, so I bet the talls are really tall.

Then you simply MUST buy the Jasmine pants (flat front no zip, cuffed)! I don't know if they have them at Lerner's (they seem more on the casual side?) but I know I wore a black pair with small red & white stripes at our last RR get together, and TriBob seemed to like them very much.

You may want to check out Express as well - they recently redesigned all of their pants. They come in long sizes.

also check-out gap.com, they have longs.
I'm 5'11" also, and the talls fit well, so hopefully they will be good for your mom! Good luck!!!
