the saucony grid shadows I bought in July just aren't working for me. they are stability shoes, so I'm assuming that's what I need. I'm basically a neutral pronator. I want to try a New Balance shoe, I"m open to suggestions about which model. Also willing to look at other brands.

If you are a nuetral runner with a high arch you should be running in cushion shoes. However, stability shoes are probably fine.
You could go to roadrunnersports.com and check out what they call their "shoe dog". It's a little search engine that will look through different types of criteria to help you find the shoes you want. You don't have to buy them there.
Most people will tell you Asics, for any shoe type. I have had good luck with Adidas cushion shoes.
I have also heard great things about Mizunos, but never tried 'em.

What don't you like about the Shadow? Do you like the fit of Saucony? What else have you tried besides the Shadow? What did you like or not like about those shoes?
New Balance are okay but my experience with them is that unless you are an extremely efficient runner or a mid to fore-foot striker you'll be lucky to get 250 miles out of them. That said, the shoes in the NB line most like the Shadow are the 764 or 854.
Don't want to steer you away from NB if you have you mind made up to try 'em, after all shoes are a very personal choice...but in my opinion there are better choices out there.

looking for input, but on the NB's my daughter has a pair and loves them. I'm thinking that we would have similar structure, thus I may like them too. Saucony's feel big on me, and rather rigid. I've been in pain with them. I have Nike exxcellerator's now, they're ok, I like them better than the Saucony's.

Well then I guess I'd try the 764 if I were you to see how you like it...
I ran in NB 763s all last summer. The fit and cushioning were both nice but I'm a heel striker and the NB outsoles are made of very soft rubber and wore down to the midsole very quickly. I went through about 5 pairs and only averaged about 250 miles or so per pair...for me that's just not enough...so I've moved on to Mizuno Mercury's and Wave-Riders...I also run in a pair Saucony Omni 3s which I like but can't use on anything longer then 6-7 miles or else I'll get blisters on my inside part of my heel.
Good luck with whatever you decide!

alright, I did some more research and made a list of shoes that I thought I could try. I went to the mall tonight and bought the NB 805's. Looking forward to trying them out!

Make sure to wear them around the house for a couple of hours. If they cause you problems in that time, then they aren't the shoe for you. Also, make sure that you CAN take them back to the store.
What's the list of shoes you want to try?

Why are you assuming that you need stability shoes?

You're either a neutral runner or a runner that pronates, you can't be both. Although you can pronate to varying degrees: mildly to severe.
Take a pair of older running shoes and place them side by side on a level surface. Then, get behind them and look at the heels. Not the bottom of the shoe, but the back part. What do they look like doing? Do they lean inward? Outward? No lean? This will give you an indication of the amount of pronation you actually do.
The wear on the bottom of the shoe will tell you your footstrike pattern - heel striker, forefoot striker, etc.
