i have to come up with an activity suitable for 6-7 year olds that has an animal theme. the theme should go with "surival of the species" or animal superlatives (fastest, longest, etc).
i need this by friday. are there any good websites i can look at or any other good (but fast/easy) sources i can use?

Try the discovery channel's website. I'm sure they'd have scads of stuff.

Throw a big bag of candy in the middle of the room, then tell the kids only one child gets it, so whoever fights off everyone else and hangs onto the prize is at the top of the foodchain. Kicking, biting, pulling hair, eye gouging and groin kicks are all acceptable methods to get and keep the prize.
Sadly, this is how mom used to feed my brothers, sister and myself on the farm....

Does it have to be in the classroom?
You could do some sort of competition with three groups and tiered prizes. The best gets the best prize, etc.
