hey homies and homettes...
my boss is in london for the week (family funeral), and i'm left to research our competition (among other things).
slight problem - i don't know who they are. neither do the programmers... kinda scary.
so i'm googling, but i've only got like two so far, and i know there's more.
i'm looking for Automated Expense Tracking type deals. that's the industry (supposedly). we make a program that tracks travel and entertainment costs for businesses. real handy (so it seems), saves money, labor time, etc.
if anyone feels like practicing their google skills, i'm only a half hour into my week and running out of ideas to drum this stuff up.
any pointers from anyone would be super. (really super). and it's far too early for me to break out my star wars book.

Sounds like your company makes a stand-alone piece of software, no?
What we're looking into here is a Wells-Fargo credit card that comes with online tracking and an added function of automated expense tracking. So really, you need to look at banks/credit cards and the programs they offer. I'm thinking much of your software does is also available from large banks online services from what I've seen.

What about Intuit, Microsoft, Peoplesoft? Google on their websites and see what you can find? I don' t know if the products are any different from US to Canada?

that is an option i was thinking... if you can point me in the direction of that wells-fargo program, that would be fantastic.
i'll note the bank bundles as a competition thing too...
(i love how everyday the scope of the project gets bigger and bigger, and yet my deadlines get sooner and sooner )
kristin - will do. i don't think peoplesoft exists anymore tho (unless i heard an audio presentation wrong...) .
this is sooo unstructured.

I think Peoplesoft merged with Oracle. Or it might be J Edwards.
Someone in your organization has to know your competitors. Wouldn't the marketing department have that info?
Or is your company run like any place in corporate America I've ever worked? Never mind.
