I saw Cake in concert last night, in a great venue. It was one of the best concerts I've seen in a long time...they are one of those bands that is as good or better in person. The lead singer is hysterical.
I realized when it was over that 2 hours isn't enough for them to play all my favorites. They have ALOT of songs I like. They did play most of my favorites from "prolonging the magic", my favorite cd.
Sheep go to heaven, goats go to hell...

Awesome. I would love to see them in concert. I bet they are great in a small venue.

Okay.. new rule.
If you're gonna put up a thread about music, you need to find a sample wav to link in it so the rest of us can get some kind of idea what it's about. 'kay?
...and just what kind of name is "cake"? Ya know, Coach is gonna have a problem with this thread.

Okay, okay. These are all launchcast videos...I assume anyone can watch...
The song my thread title refers to is The Distance
Another hit a few years after that one, Never There
And finally, their newest single No Phone

It's hard to keep the places straight up here in DFW also.....they keep selling the name ....we have The Nokia, and Fair Park Starplex is now the Smirnoff......
My favorite places are the old, classic theaters with good acoustics like the Paramount in Austin, or the Majestic in Dallas.....

Going the Distance is really good. I used to listen to them quite a bit. Not so much in recent years....not sure why.

Weasel Boy gives a Giant thumbs up for Cake!
I've missed them the last few times in ATL. Hoping to catch their show the next time thru town.
