I don't get it. The US is the first country to hold up their right to free speech, but you can't buy or sell a vibrator?

Oh yeah. We can yap all we want, as long as the topics are pre-approved by "a few prominent citizens with strong Christian beliefs".

A vibrator by any other name...

I stand liberal on this issue. I'm curious what W and Kerry think about this.

Texas law allows for the sale of sexual toys as long as they are billed as novelties, BeAnn Sisemore, a Fort Worth attorney representing Webb, told the Houston Chronicle before a gag order was issued by the judge presiding over the case. But when a person markets sex toys in a direct manner that shows their actual role in sex, then that person is subject to obscenity charges, she told the newspaper.

*wink wink nudge nudge it's not really a sex toy* is okay, but admitting you might *gasp!* be the kind of person that has and enjoys sex (Horrors!) that is another story. What a bunch of nimrods.

You'd think even "a few prominent citizens with strong Christian beliefs" would rather have their police force catching real criminals. And you'd think the police would have had better things to do than even bother with the sting operation.

Nope, not all. It's what the article called the people who snitched. Just using their words.
