Posted: 04/21/03 - 01:13 Post subject: had to call the po-po tonight!
Loser neighbors decided to set off fireworks horiizontally instead of vertically and set our deck on fire. Went over and told them if I heard one more firework I was calling the po-po but once I got home I decided one was enough.
True to my luck with the local constabulary, the officer that responded was not a glowing representative of the force. I said maybe three words, and he turned and walked away back to his car. He just called to tell me that we can't prove the neighbors set off the fireworks and they deny it so there's nothing more he can do. He asked me if I agreed with his analysis of the situation like six times "There's nothing I can do about this. You agree?" In fact, I spoke more on the phone to him than I did when giving my statement.
All I wanted was for him to go over there and blow fire and brimstone up their butts, but it would have been nice if he had given me the time of day.
Now I get to lie awake tonight wondering if a) we really put the fire out well and b) if they have any fireworks left.

He should have talked to the other people. Given them a stern warning and talking too and advise citations would be coming next.
That is how it should be happening.
He does not need to prove anything. He is an agent for the prosecution. He has a witness, you who would help his case.

Too bad you didn't get an officer with a better attitude.
I guess I'm lucky, the last few run-ins I've had with the police, the officers were all very helpful and courteous.

There's nothing wrong with looking good in a uniform.

That sled dog looks just like MY sled dog! He did have these foolish orange tinted glasses on which made me like him even less after he was rude to me. Hubby knows all the po-po in town since his company does their communications (radios, cel phones) and says he's a dork!
