good road bike for a new triathlete (Olympic lengths)

Hubby is doing his first tri this summer and wants a decent but not stupidly expensive road bike. Must have carbon fork and seat post, 105 or Ultegra components, and be in the $1500 CDN range. That's probably around $1100-$1200 US?
He really likes the Giant OCR1 but hasn't ridden it yet.
Anyone have a bike they LOVE? Or hate?

I think the Cervelo One is right in that price range. Felt also offers great value in that budget. A road bike is just as good for that distance.
