Looking for something really reliable and easy to start....hate fussy 2 cycle engines......

I've had good luck with Homelite weedeaters. Don't care for their chainsaws but the weedeaters have been reliable.

I have the worst luck with those things. My current 1 y.o. Ryobi is dead. Neutral

Stihl sounds nice.....and yes, expensive.....I guess you get what you pay for.....

Definitely. Cheap stuff is usually only good for a season or two.

I'm in exactly the same boat...my trusty Husqvarna finally packed it in.

After looking at various brands, I think I'll end up with a Shindaiwa.
The local dealer sells both 2- and 4-strokes, but he said the 2-strokes have a better power-to-weight ratio.

I got a 10-yr old Sears super-sale Craftsman. Starts everytime.



/of course here in the tundra I only use it a half-dozen times a year
