IKEA makes me hate the world.

What's wrong with IKEA? I've never been to one or even seen a commercial.
They had the first commercial from a nation-wide business to feature an openly gay couple. It raised quite a storm, and got taken off the air in many markets very fast. This was maybe a year and-a-half, two years, ago.

Its cheap, its easy, its trendy but can be nice...

I've found their assembly instructions to be a bit vague

I also will add, much of it was not constructed to last more than 2ish moves. I verified this theory moving an Ikea table and chairs for the 4th time in its life last week and the table sort of self-destructed....

So, Cheryl, just pick up your enclosed allen wrench (tork-spanndel in Ikea Swedish) and put it back together again!!! Wink

No, I mean, whatever happened it looked like it had been dropped from a tall building. It was going to take a lot more than just tork-spanndel, like a lot of 'klister' as the Ikeans say to make it just a 1 piece table again....

I like IKEA. We have 3 near us and every one of them is nice. They are so huge and have very good prices. I have a really nice tumbler set I got for 25 cents/glass there. They are my favorite glasses. Of course, I have bought WAY MORE than glasses there but that was one of my better deals! Smile

So sad about the deaths, though. Sad

Yabut, you only need one tool to put it together, a hex wrench

There are two major problems with IKEA (and since anyone who's been to our house knows it's 50% furnished from there I feel I can say this):

1. The layout is a total maze. really confusing. "Gotta go forward to go back" as Willy Wonka would say.

2. The stuff all has totally fake Sweedish-esque names, like 'Hrundel' and 'Sploork'.

I think really its just designed to encourage the impulse buy. You know you're never gonna find that lamp again if you pass it up, plus how in the hell would you ever remember the name--so you just put it in the cart and buy it. Brilliant.

My computer desk doesn't have one of those Sweedish-esque names:

Introducing....The Jerker (...and I am NOT kidding):
