It started one day last week when I didn't warm up AT ALL before heading out. A twinge in my right leg that went all the way up to my hip. Ever since then I have made sure to warm up but for the first two minutes I have super twinges in my right hip. It's not the muscle, but seems to be the joint itself. Once I get into my stride, it goes away. What do I do? Take a few days off? I don't really feel like I need to since I seem to be able to run through it but what do you think?

Try stretching it out, then icing it down afterwards. Maybe take a day or off

I'd try more stretching. My hips are known to give me problems if I don't spend a few minutes stretching them after each run.

Hey Shannon,
I've just had the same problem. I went out for a run earlier this week and had pain from my hip to my calf. I quit a mile out and walked home. I iced, stretched (which didn't seem to help in my case), and took ibuprophen. I did manage to race yesterday with little pain. I'm taking another day off today, and hope everything is normal in the morning. Take a few rest days and feel better soon! (It may be that awsome 7+ miles you ran the other day)

Seems like we are passing this one around! The pain in my hip was so strong, I was going to get it checked out. But, after taking a week off, I jumped right back at it and everything feels great! If it is still hurting you, you should really consider a couple of days off.
