My stbx will become my X Monday at 1 pm. The two of us sat down like adults and hammered out an equitable division of assets, an excellent shared parenting plan and are actually on better terms right now than we've been for two years.

It took the constant delays, foot dragging and time wasting of the two attorneys (sorry gman) for the two of us to manage to sit in the same room and be civil to each other and act like adults. We are both as happy as can be considering the circumstances and my son is extremely happy with the custody battle being settled.

that is exactly what i'm trying to avoid...custody battle, so we've decided not to get lawyers involved. it's very difficult period for all of us. i just hope we can remain aimicable. tension gets so high when we're together. Sad i'm glad to hear you two were able to reach a resolution.

Be aware that even though this is what you want...there are gonna be some funky-ass feelings that come outta nowhere for a little while.

First, I'm sorry that you are getting divorced. I mean, I'm glad if this is what you want, but I'm sorry that it didn't work out, that you weren't happy, that she wasn't happy, whatever. I hate to see any marriage end. In a perfect world, our spouses would be great, we would be great, everything would be great.

But it's not a perfect world, is it?

So, that brings me to wishing you a world full of happiness, that you find yourself in a better place, with happier times. Truly, you deserve good things. No, GREAT things.

Glad you guys were able to work everything out aimicably!!

It's not a fun process, but it's good to be able to finish things and get on with the rest of your life.
