I'm going to live!
Just got back from my appt with the running maniac podiatrist today, xrays show a healthy foot. Knowing where I was running at the time of 'the incident' he believes (and I agree) it is peroneal tendonitis because I was turning my ankle. Bottomline, he's saying the marathon is a go if I'm careful. Dancing Banana I'm already planning my outfit! Mr. Green

then I got a strict "then after chicago LAYOFF for a few weeks!" Uh, yes sir! Shocked

The should be stretches you can do for that, my friend Jen had it bad at one point. If you didn't get any from him let me know and I will email her for you and see what she did for it.

Did he say you should run in a brace maybe?

Its actually peroneal insertional tendonitis (so a first and a middle name for coach? Wink ), so I don't think there is a brace they could give me for it. Which I was glad about, I can only imagine the blisters I could give myself with something additional. He gave me some Rx anti-inflammatories and some tricks to make it less painful. And if I don't run by this weekend he wants to know on Monday. Really cool guy, really optimistic about me and this marathon in 19 days Shocked

I've had the prescription anti-inflammatory drugs before and they are awesome! I hope they do the trick for you!

But you're tapering anyway, right... so you can maybe heal a little bit between now and then.
