i like to know the "why's or at least attempt to figure out a "why"

1.
Like the guy might have done something heinous that warranted such action, like a proverbial scarlet letter. Things like Child Molestation come to mind.

not only do I want to know what they wrote, but also how 1 person was able to hold him down while the other tattooed the guy. I'd have been fighting like a wildcat.
