Republicans apparently won this election.

Democrats lost.

what's the difference, and why did the republicans win (whats so special bout 'em)?

could a republican kindly point out what a republican does.

However, JUST to clarify for our in house Canajun. I don't want to start debates...the easiest way to summarize this election and its results are, the democrats and republicans are the biggest opposing parties. (to get into each party's beliefs would really open the can of worms). With the checks and balances in the US gov it works out that if the pres is one party and the legislature is the other, not a whole lot gets done. So, the significance here is that we currently have a republican president as well as a Republican senate and congress. It means in theory that a lot more of Bush's (or republican) agendas can be pushed through more easily.

Is that clearer??

did I step on toes? if so, sorry....

It's like this. You work (sooner or later you will). You pay taxes. You work harder and pay more taxes. Can you see where I am going with this?

no debates here you want debates go to the CH

they try to define themselves over there all the time

basically the repubs unified with a clear message
and the dems said lets all get the repubs with no message
