Posted: 01/26/05 - 15:30 Post subject: ebay question again
Ok, I think there's something I want to bid on. So I need to sign up and try this out. I was ready some of the help info....but there's so much!!!!
Basically, I can register and put in a bid and learn as I go right? Do you always put in the maximum amount you'll pay and ebay keeps bidding for you? What if towards the end you are almost the winner and would maybe add an extra $1 to do it, but that's above your maximum bid entered, can you still do that? Do you just have to keep checking on an item?
Any other advice or tips for a newbie here?? I'm kindov scared, but it's an under $50 thing so that's not TOO scary I guess....but I don't feel like I know what to do!
Thanks!

You can opt to put in your maximum bid, and then change it whenever you want.
Just keep refreshing your screen toward the end of the auction.
Ebay sends out emails to tell you if you are the high bidder or if you have been outbid, but during the last 5 minutes, I refresh. It is faster.
Good Luck!

Thanks. I just registered and put in a bid! I feel so excited!!!!!
It ends today, so we'll see if I win. I'm still scared I'll get something and it won't be what I thought, but heck, I can save about $30 on some brand new curtains (that I'll have to buy anyway if this doesn't work) for baby sister's room, so I'm giving it a shot!

I watch everything in my watch list... at the end of the auction I come in at about 5 mintues to go and start refreshing the screen. If it stays around where I want it I zone in and snatch it.

my only word of advice........
IT"S ADDICTING!
I went through a spell of collecting 50's retro stuff....furniture, lamps, pottery, etc......now I need to sell some of it.......
