The Montessori school was having a book fair yesterday and today so the kids that come in the morning all came with some money to buy a book or two, as did I. Bryce bought two books, woth $5.35 and $5.30, respectively. He paid with a $20 bill. Now, my first clue should have been when the middle aged lady handling the cash needed a calculator to figure out the total (as the child next to her is saying "$10.65, ma'am, $10.65 " ) Then she proceeds to hand back to Bryce a $10 bill and a bunch of silver.
I actually had to stop her and say she was giving him too much money, and that he should only get $9.35 back. Then I really messed her up by giving her $23.25 for my $13.25 purchase, so I would get a $10 bill back.
This book fair was supposed to be a fund raiser for the school. I only hope with her in charge of the cash they actually made some money.

Michael loves to use change and get an even amount back, so he is always bitching when he gives a stupid 16-year-old kid money and change and wants a $5 bill back, and the kid looks at him like, "HUH?!?!"

Ha! A typo in my own rant about dumb people. Thanks sue, for pointing it out as graciously as possible.
