i have returned!
my friend shelby and i must have set a record for trying on dresses. we plowed thru about 14 dresses in about 1.5 hours.
we went to davids bridal, a nationwide chain. i figured they had lots to choose from so would be a good place to start. i was a little disapointed in the service, but maybe i was expecting too much? anyways i liked most of what i tried on, there were a few that were just awful.
my favorites were these two "princess" gowns. they both had full tulle skirts and were strapless. one had a bodice that was all crystals. the other had this sort of quilted pattern with crystals and metallic threads. the third favorite was an all satin strapless with an a line skirt and kind of a ruching accross the waist with bugle beads all over the bodice. the final favorite was the same deal, a line satin strapless with ruching across the waist, but this one had irridescent crystals in a sort of diamond pattern just across the chest.
i have some pics that im going to attempt to upload, but i can almost guarentee that i will need some assistance. so if anyone wants to volunteer, the line forms here______________.

How exciting!
I rented my first dress. $200. I wore a blue cocktail dress to the second. The dress is the hardest part.

Just think comfort. That is my only suggestion. I danced like a crazy woman in my dress! And make sure your shoes are super comfy too. I changed shoes for the reception, a very elegant pair of high heeled clear lucite flip flops with a heel that flashed like a disco ball every time I took a step. Tres chic, cheri.

I got mine at the JC Penney Outlet Store in Columbus Ohio.

all of the dresses i tried on were so heavy on the hanger, most i couldnt imagine wearing for 8+ hours!
and i already plan on changing shoes for the reception. i was going to go with a tasteful pair of white ballet slippers, but i like the flashing lucite flipflops! where can i get some of those?

I need to go get some more pants. Pretty soon I think they're going to catch on at work that I wear the same pair of pants every time.

Try skipping a day. Then I'm sure they won't mind you wearing the same pair everyday.

If you are a size nine I will send you mine, on condition that you give them to a bride when your day is done!
Warning - these shoes make the reception. They lit up the entire skirt portion of my dress during the first dance like a circus tent. Every single person at my wedding (80+ guests) had to have a turn in them!
