so Saturday i felt another stone start to descend and i've been dealing with it and still going to work since my co-worker has been off on surgical leave. well yesterday i felt one ready to finish the journey but another one decided to start it's descent. we took x-rays and it confirmed everything i thought.
the good news is it looks as if these are the last of the 7 they dicovered last year.
i went skating last night trying to shake the little buggers out.....wrong move. I'm going to go back to work today, i figure where else could be better to be (besides bed and high) than in a urologists office?
wish me luck

feel better soon. | a few main reasons for this is dehydration and diet. i doubt it's diet for me. since i skate for hours on the weekends i tend to dehydrate EVERY weekend. the body can only absorb 3/4 of a liter of water per hour (on avg) but on avg most people tend to lose 1 liter per hour during vigorous activity so after 6 hours outside i'm dehydrated.
thanks

If there has to be something done, and I hope there's not, do you have the option of soundwaves being used to break them up? I'm not sure if that's exactly what's done, but I've heard something along these lines can be done rather than direct surgery.

drugged and happy is a good way to go thru life, my new motto.
G-dawg, they can use ultrasound, the cure is as bad as the ailment though. they only use those on stones that are too big to pass though. I've had that procedure before and holy pugiltics Batman des it hurt.
Think Mike Tyson (precannabilism) hitting you 300 times, in one square inch, in 30 minutes. the reccomendation is to drink lots of water and go for a bike ride.
getting ready to drug and call it a night.

Is it true that drinking a lot of soda causes this as well? When I found that out, soda was banned from my diet...
(anyone remember the seinfeld episode where Kramer had a stone?)

I had a doc with kidney problems and his wife begged him to cut out the 3 diet cokes he had a day. He said there was no definitive link.
I've heard too much to the contrary and agree with her and you.

Good luck. My heart (and kidneys) hurt for ya!! | blueberry helps create the damn stones, as do a lot of the berries, spinach, brocoli, peanuts (and peanut butter )
yes soda can be a major cause of them too, the carbonation leeches calcium out of the bones and into the bloodstream where it is then massed in the kidneys (a filter system)
I cut soda out almost entirely from my life, it only enters my body when escorted by Jack Daniels.
