noon games do not = television $$$
The world series games consistently start after 8 PM - until they get older my children will never probably watch a world series game - hell i have a hard time staying awake

Today's lesson in baseball history:
1987 - Giants take a commanding 3-1 lead in the NLCS over the Cardinals. Giants player Jeffery Leonard showboats after hitting homer (the infamous "flaps down") and Chili Davis calls St Louis a "one cow town".
Both become instant villains. St Louis crowd taunts them in games 6 and 7. The pitching staff rallies to shut down the entire San Francisco offense.
At the end of Game 7, Jack Buck says phrases such as "It's a winner" and "Cardinals win the pennant".
Amazing how history can repeat itself. Bonds and Lofton are all over the whole "villain" thing. (Then D-Back Cintron must be the equivalent of the tarp that ran over Vince Coleman)

The bump would be smaller if St. Louis played the first two on the road. I would call it more of a hill now that is getting bigger.

it may be time to change the name of the thread to "Akern, Be Sad"
but being down 0-2 is not the end of the world - in '96 the yanks lost the first two WS games, and at home, and went on to win it all
there is hope!!
