Traffic Light Hacker Resets Red Lights
Authorities Worry About Safety

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Authorities in Silicon Valley are looking for a traffic light hacker.
Someone has been fooling around with the traffic signals in the Northern California town of Sunnyvale. Lights have been turned off or rigged to flash red in all directions.
Officials said the prankster even used a cherry-picker truck to turn traffic lights to face the wrong way.
Authorities said the light hacker knows what he or she is doing and has a key to the light control boxes.
No one has been hurt, but authorities are concerned about safety at intersections.
Officials appealed to citizens to watch for anyone who's messing around with the traffic signals.

Is there a lack of neuron juice in California ?
Can't someone notice an "unofficial" cherry picker crane at intersections ? (I'll even bet its done at night...)

How can you tell if it's there on official business or not? I must need a refill of neuron juice because when I see a cherry picker in action my first instinct is to assume it's legit business. I didn't think they were that easy to own, obtain or even joyride in. 
Plus, there are so many outages here on a regular basis that

i've seen places where they are rentable. how to tell if it's official, i mean most of us just go by them and it it's done at 3 am, whose to know? the drunks coming home after the bar closed, they'd never notice or care.

Now if the lights had been all set to green, that would be flat-out dangerous. Not that red isn't.
