There's nothing new in Treining Tales. It's not very often that happens on a Monday.

I had this uber game of kickball with my boys, but thought it might be a little drama-blogged over the top to post a race report about it.

I still made it out for 8.8 miles of hill work yesterday. Nuthin' gallow about this ol' boy. My taper for this half will be pretty much nil.

Annotated and footnotes! | Ok I dont know if I'll get 2,000 words but here goes. Crim 10 mile race, Flint Mi. Probably the biggest race in Michigan, close to 7,000 in the 10 mile alone. Woke around 4:30 got ready and waited for my buddy to pick me up. (Flint around an hour drive from home). Got into Flint and my neighbor (who drove seperately, ended up picking up our race packets.)I had to take a pee break. The sky was not looking promising at day break and a few sprinkles were around. Anyhow got ready did a short warm up and stretched yet another pee break . Did my pre-race check and headed for the start line, many people everywhere. I got into the chute and realised I had to pee again, but with 7,000 people lining up there was nowhere to move. My buddy said I'd be sweating enough soon and wouldnt have to worry about it. They played the national anthem and 2 A-10 Warthogs (I believe thats what they were) flew right over head, very low it was an awesome sight, sent chills down my spine, the gun sounded and we were off (still having to pee) I hit the first mile which I thought was a little too quick at 8:01 (my training has been marginal lately, with coaching soccer and trying to work on my basement its been a tough go), but I wasnt feeling bad, till the pee urge came back, I ended up having to take a quick route through the trees and around mile 4. Felt much better till the Bradley Hills, then my splits started slippin (I dont have my watch here today). I got through them and still had a hard time revovering, however I did manage to pull off a 7:48 for my final mile. Finshied 1.24.12, 826 pace 1775 out of about 6700 runners not too shabby, I'll take we stuck around the post race party till the skies opened up. I ended the day at the Kenny Chesney concert with my wife and daughter, all in all it was a great day!!
