the issue is the frequency and what we allow ourselves to be indulgent with. 1 day at a day spa after your first marathon can be an indugent reward. a day at a day spa after a standard 3 mile run mid-week, just because it was a little bit colder is Over-indulgent. Maybe that's what I'm saying but not getting portrayed We as a culture over-indulge.

So we need to put limits and terms on luxury. Got it.

Of course as a culture we overindulge. A little convenience goes a long way.

I think what he's saying is that a little convenience, in this culture, only goes a little way.

I think if you keep it in perspective, some indulgence can really be a useful thing. On the other hand, if it becomes about whether "I deserve it," it's not such a good thing.

That's exactly what I got out of what he was saying too.

Speaking of very well-deserved indulgence, how's the Big Pampering coming??

Over-indulgence also makes commonplace that which would otherwise be a decadence.

I still say a good cheeseburger would be absolute decadence to me. Neutral
