basically, all company all the way. We have a guy here who states he is for the department no matter what. He would do whatever the department told him to even some questionable things.

My organization has been very good to me, so I feel some sense of loyalty to them. However, I wouldn't do anything unethical, or illegal for them.

okay. I agree Greg. I am a company man, but the "company" is not greater than I. Thinking by some people here is that they are less than the company and the company is all that matters.

Only way I'll give the 'Company' what it wants is when I retire. Or have the Viking funeral (pass the marshmallows).

I wouldn't go that far. Basically what Cappy said, though i'm not sure how far my loyalty really goes right now.

well, in a sense I am, because I often take crap from other teachers and go out of my way to accomodate them, just to keep the harmony up.
(Keltic can give me a "hell yeah!")
But in another sense, I am not. I'm leaving, first of all(10 days of school left after today) And, I have MAJOR philosophical differences with many of the staff here. Because so, even if we weren't moving, I'm pretty sure I would have not returned to this school. They don't pay me enough to eat this much crap all the time.

Despite all my kvetching regarding this firm, they:
* hired a single-mom with no accounting background
* floated me loans when things got tight
* encouraged my creativity until the work load got too heavy
* doubled my salary in 6 years
* gave me a $500 bonus to buy gear and train for races
* allowed me to prove myself as an effective trainer
I just hope I can find this type of supportive environment in PA, but one that will allow me to wear my combat boots to work.

Hook, line & sinker. I love my job and our mission (charity based org, for those that don't know). I could prolly climb the career ladder a whole lot higher elsewhere, but I'd like this to be my last known work address

I am a company man but would not defend the actions of unethicial or immoral behavior. I would not cover up stuff or lie. I love the department but not enough to compromise my principles.

I work for the US Postal Service. I am proud of my work and defend my organization to anyone that starts to bad mouth it...
I am NOT proud of co workers who snitch on others - we have one who is actually taking NOTES and reporting to her buddies the Plant Manager and her Assistant. Wait until she finds out that goes both ways. Fortunately, she is in a different craft/section.
Many people put the organizations ahead of themselves. This is good, what is bad is when the organization puts people below their profit margins. Spending $ 50.00 for a section barbecue is worth lots more in loyalty. (OK its a little thing but people do appreciate it)

Considering your occupation, thank you. Honestly.
