What opinions of you do others have that are incorrect? Do many people know the real you? If not, is it intentional on your part to hide areas of your personality?

Many people think I am a slow runner. I do this purposely so other's feelings won't be hurt when we run together. It is all out of kindness on my part.... Wink

No, most people think I am anal retentive and perfectionistic. I think they're spot on.

There are some things I do try to hide because they are not anyone's bidness.

People think I am in a secret society where we sit around and spend entire days making up super secret acronyms and hope no one will break our code name.....I also enjoy arranging flowers and making plaid cozies for toasters....

And I thought I was the only one who ran slow to preserve others since of worth!

Unfortunetly, I think I'm pretty honest on here, maybe not open, but honest. Otherwise, I would have bragged about qualifying for Boston at my first marathon. Very Happy

Interesting question. I've always believed that if someone wants to think something of you, good or bad, they're going to whether you try to change their minds or not. So why bother? If a person's secure with who they are, no one else's opinion should really make a difference, should it?

I'll admit to anal retentive, obsessive-compulsive and nitpicky, but I've been told a lot of positive things by people who know me well too (and that's really the key...WHO is doing the thinking and how informed they really are) so it all balances out in the end. The bottom line is that I'm happy with me and at 38 am beyond giving a sh*t what someone else thinks. Mr. Green

People tend to think that I am Healthy Eater #1. They are shocked to find me with a cookie and a diet coke and often make snide comments about being "off my diet".

Whatever.

That's me. Some might say that's controlling; controlling others' perceptions of me.

I think the people who love me know the real me. The other people who don't really know me, those who I don't let backstage, it's irrelevant what they think. I'm somewhat like Genie in that I'm not overly concerned about everyone else's perceptions.
