Come now, you've changed the whole future direction of your life! No longer are you content to sit in a Houston High Rise overlooking rabid pigeons and birds.

well, yeah, besides that tiny little life encompassing detail that I may have forgotten... Embarassed

Truthfully though, I think I knew 5 years ago I didn't want to do anything like this, and I was trying to find ways to do pharmaceutical sales (with no experience--impossible) as a way to venture into healthcare.

In the last 20 years I did decide the taste of paste and bonne bell lip smackers isn't that fantastic.

5 years: +2 kids, -135 lbs, a realization of the direction I want my career (and life) to go in.
lesson learned: developed an appreciation for the small things that often go by unnoticed in life, and a drive to experience life as best I can.

10 years:
dealt with a "career ending" injury. got married. graduated college.
lesson learned: realized that persistence and determination will win out over intelligence and ingenuity..and that if you have all 4, you have the world by the proverbial balls.

15 years: moved from small-town Maine to Boston. realized that a big fish in a small pond could still be a big fish in a bigger pond.
lesson learned: discovered that whenever something doesn't go according to plan, it leads to either a growth experience, a great story, or both.

5 years - finished MBA and realized that higher ed was where I wanted to stay. Met someone who I can truely be myself around and married him. Realized that having a few good friends is worth a lot. Became comfortable with who I am both mentally and physically.

10 years - was in a terrible abusive realtionship. Realized that I could be strong and didn't need to put up with someone elses BS. Got to see the world and learn more about other people who are so happy with so little.

15 years - lost my dad to cancer and mentally lost my mom to clinical depression. learned that i was truely on my own and that i would be ok.

Pretty much my whole life was divided into black and white...you either were, or weren't, did or didn't(fill in your own conversation here...it really makes no difference what subject).

Now I've realized the world is a whole lotta grey area in different shades.

Patience, tolerance, kindness.....still working on, but improving slightly Smile
