To contribute to my own thread, I just finished Memoirs of a Geisha and Hard Eight (stephanie plum). Loved them both.

HEY! We're on the same page on books. I'm reading Blink now, read The Tipping Point earlier this year, red Freakonomics last summer. I agree that Tipping Point is good but Blink has more little post-it notes in it for me to go back and ponder some of the ideas. Gladwell is so easy to read.
I haven't been thrilled with much of the fiction that I've read lately... good but not recommendable.

BTW I'm asking for a book club I'm in, its my turn to pick soon and I don't hear about books until after everyone has read them twice it seems. Its all women, we read a variety of things, but fiction and preferably already in paperback. |
I could always put in a plug for A Confederacy of Dunces... |
There's one I read a long, long time ago. It's worth a re-read, too.

Like Mech, I can only say, "Wow."
If your dislike of Oz has no limits, why on Earth did you even think about reading Wicked? Certainly not because it was a gift, right? That's to say, you made the remark about tooth surgery and being kicked in the head by a horse.
What was the problem, no phone books to read?
