Ok, minds out of the gutter.....
Since we got our king bed we've been using a down comforter of my mom's (it's got a duvet cover on it), but now that it's getting warmer it's just too hot. So we I have finally been shopping for a new comforter set. Problem is, I can't find anything I like. I've brought 4 different comforters home and they have all been returned. At this point, I would be happy to just stay with white and bring in color with other things.
Problem, I can't find a stinking white comforter that isn't down! I did find a beautiful duvet that's white, but I will still have to get a comforter, so do I just buy some cheap colored one? But I'm afraid the color will show through.
Does anyone know about "alternative down" comforters? I think they are for people with allergies, but are they as hot and heavy as down??? I also hate the way with the down one all the stuff gets pushed down to one end of the comforter and makes it fall off the bed because it's so heavy. Are there some down comforters that don't do this?
Help me gals (or guys!)...................!!!!!!!!!!!

Molly, I live in the tropical rainforest and I use a 'summer weight' year round. Maybe that would work for you?

Luckily this is currently a crayon free house....I'm sure that won't last long because I need to teach the kid to color.
I'll check out those sites, thanks. So will some of them say "light" weight down and that won't be so hot???
I swear, I never thought it would be so hard to get a darn cover for our new bed!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think there is something about a king bed that it's so big that some things just don't look good. They look good in the bag but then you put it on that huge bed and it's just too much. That's why I'm thinking of resorting to plain white...

so, you are saying that things are getting sweaty under the covers?
i think the comforter is the least of your problems.

i had one of those down comforters and evidently, im highly allergic to down.
so i got one of those alternative filling ones. im using it now, and as long as i have the ceiling fan on, its not too warm untill about 9 or 10 when the sun is shining in my window. but then again, im sleeping alone. i got mine at marshalls for 30 dollars and its a double... i think the kings/queens were $50ish?
