not interested. I would be "if" I had a super-dooper large house and it could be indoor away from other living space.....I can't imagine the damage the humidity does to a house. I'd prefer what we had in TX. A small subdivision with a pool that everyone pays for a lifeguard and upkeep.

can't understand why people do this up here considering the short season, it doesn't seem cost effective. plus, they're so small, i'd want olympic sized or nothin'
it just seems like so much work to me. and so much expense, i can't imagine that heating bill.

I would also worry about my kid and her friends swimming without supervision\permission.
When I was a kid one of the neighbors had a swimming pool. Another neighbors 3 year old somehow got into it and drowned.

This is how my Kathryn lost her toddler. Seriously. In her own pool.

Had an above ground pool that had been buried about 13 years ago. Lots of work because it was under a shade tree. Totally sucked. I hated it.

My sister's neighbor had one that when it rained too much (in Louisiana) it would overflow into my sister's livingroom. That house was cursed!

Had one at the old house.
Hated it worth a passion.
Never swam in it, due to the concrete always being too hot to walk on around it (plus my son had a fear of water as well and it was too deep for him to walk)
Was a PITA to keep clean.
Turned into a science experiment many times.
Costly to drain and upkeep.
Spent summers at the public pools instead.
I think my dislike for it had to do with my having to keep it. I had too much other stuff to do and I didn't want it in the first place.
Never again will I have a backyard pool unless I have someone to share the responisibitiy of keeping it. And it doesn't make sense to have one in the midwest/northern states where it can only be used a few months out of the year.
BTW...now there's a pool guy cleaning it now that I'm gone. How nice.
And I'm not bitter or anything.

My Dad has one. It's a lot of fun in the summer like 4 or 5 times we get together and have a pool party. They have a hot tub too. It does take a lot to maintain it though.

And a frozen drink machine. Can he be my dad too? You can go ahead and tell him the whole sob story if you want and maybe he'll adopt me. It might work. Pleeeze?

I can't help it. I call it Writer's Recall. Everything reminds me of something someone said, or did or sang.

In a townhouse/condo thing. We don't have our own, but there are three outdoor ground pools on the property. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
