our squad solved two major crime rings that have been plaguing our township for a long long time
without giving too many details...
a giant team effort by our whole squad cracked a major theft ring from a retail store
and a pick pocket ring at a theater where people would sit behind unsuspecting people, move their pocketbooks, remove the credit cards then replace the pocketbook, go to the "bathroom" and meet their contact who would spend the credit cards very quickly...
the head of that ring currently has a new address courtesy of RTPD... county jail 
lots of paperwork involved that we are still doing...and we have really opened up a can of worms (sorry steve) on this one...this is a very big operation that is going to get much bigger over the next few days

we had a guy in plain clothes watching
we had a fairly decent idea on the "profile" of the person
watched, waited and pounced

no but our in car camera filmed the part outside of the incident

Yeah, preying on old people in general is a very bad deal. A remodeler tried to scam my mom and dad last year. Good thing my uncle is a retired criminal court judge back home. DA and police took a special interest and the guy not only was charged and convicted, but my mom and dad got most of their money back. Doesn't usually workout that way in most cases, sad to say.
