it's parent conference day so the students are home, and we are meeting with the parents. I've just seen 1 parent so far. I usually don't see too many with concerns about music class. Most of the time, they just stop to chat.

If parent conferences were handled more like trade shows you could bribe your way out of any conflict. Give away keychains, mousepads, pens, frisbees, liquor, and you'll be the most popular booth, er, class in the hall.
