I have "unsubscribed" several spam emails. I click on the link, go to their "unsubscribe" pages, fill them in. I still get a ton of spam. so the question is, when I unsubscribe and they claim to remove my addy from their database, are they really doing it, or am I just wasting my time with a fake site?

I think I read in Consumer Reports that if you respond to spam email in any way, shape or form, you confirm that your email address is a good one and you will get more spam. They recommend you don't even open 'em, just delete 'em. And they recommend you get good spam filtering software.

Some say it may take a week to ten days to remove your name, but after a little time, they just come right back.
