Keltic's thread got me thinking ... if you studied music in elementary/middle/high school or college, was it formally structured or did your teacher have less conventional methods?
I had a teacher in high school who was very intense on music composition. For an entire semester we studied conducting to get us involved in composition, tempo, crescendo, etc. To keep it interesting, we conducted a dizzying array of classics, from Rush's 2112 to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, from the theme song from Good Times to Mozart's Requiem, from Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody to Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. A little something for everyone. What a great class that was.
