Okay, so, the 'easy' solution to my problem is "buy a TV made within the last ten years". I'll go ahead and save you the breath there. I can't nor want to afford one
What I want to know is, I have seen RF Splitters that you put on the wall to run two cable lines. I want to run one to Tivo then to the TV, and another directly to the TV, allowing me to watch one channel and Tivo another (ultimately trying to Tivo OC while I watch the Bachelorette--shout out to Coach and Molly). Can I also attach one of those splitters to my TV? I have only one "in" on my TV, a coaxial cable. Nothing else. Can one of those split the signal coming into my TV on that coaxial in or is it not capable of two signals? Yes? No? Help? Funds for a new TV? Thanks...

DirecTV answer - I think you will need two coax cable feeds from your dish to the Tivo/TV to be able to record one show and watch another (live) at the same exact time. I'm not sure how Tivo works with cable TV.
