Posted: 04/18/03 - 11:21 Post subject: am I allowed something good to happen??? Now with an update!
we have been trying to refinance our house to take advantage of lower interest rates, consolidate, etc. after about 2 months we've been able to do it and the closing is today! (took so long because of our financial problems when I was overemployed, but underpaid)
yesterday, my car broke down, and it's still not clear what the problem is, and if it is repairable.
can't I just get ahead once?
We have just signed our lives away again. this is a big step to getting our financial situation taken care of. We are by no means all set up, but this really helped out. Plus we don't have a mortgage payment due until June 1! Car repair bill was $75.00 and let's hope that things are ok with it. I don't think I'll be trusting it for any long trips. Time to start saving and looking around for 2 cars..... mrs. k needs one too.

it's a Taurus Station Wagon. the "stupid" car from last summer, and it has done really well over the winter for me. I just replaced a hose on the radiator system about 2 weeks ago, but that was pretty minor stuff. another hose went yesterday. I lost all the anti-freeze out of the radiator and may have done some damage getting the car to the garage because (and no one tells me these things) putting anti-freeze in the reservoir that is marked radiator coolant doesn't mean that it will get into the radiator, you have to check it too, by opening the cap that says Do Not Remove . I talked to the mechanic a little while ago and he said that it may be alright by just fixing the leak, and replacing the fluids, etc.

There's nothing more frustrating that freakin car problems, keltic. My wife's car is an VW Passat and it's on 'the fritz' so I constantly have to bring it to the garage...It's like an instant bad mood pill.

You must all rush out and snap up the nearest 1986 Plymouth Voyager. When it dies, you just lift the hood, replace the gerbil in the little exercise wheel, and you're good to go again!
Seriously (and sadly) this is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. It burns as much oil as it does gas (almost) but it starts every time I turn the key and gets me where I need to go.

Yes, that would be the UMVPG: Union of MiniVan Propellant Gerbils. We have to give the dead gerbil severance pay and full burial benefits.

HA!
I wonder if they're connected in anyway to the Flinstone animals Union. Didn't the monkeys and elephants always look so disgruntled?

My parents-in-law are a teacher and a nurse, respectively, members of the two most powerful unions in this province. At their house when you're mad about anything the catch phrase is 'file a grievance!'
