Posted: 10/10/03 - 19:59 Post subject: almost caused a riot today...
so i showed up at my exam about an hour early, and waited with the three other nerds that were over eager.
the doors to the gym were wide open but we figured we wouldn't want to spend anymore time in the room then we had to, given the jitters.
we sat outside and the fellow exam takers plodded on in, sitting down (as one would if everybody else was sitting).
at about 20 mins before the exam the hallway was full and i decided it was time to lay claim to my seat (i suffer from Test Room Fengshui - commonly mistaken for OCD...).
so i said "i'm done sitting here, i'm going to get my seat." a few classmates followed...
and then everyone did.
out of nowhere some teachers filed in through the crowd and sternly told us to "get the heck out NOW."
it's kind've like trying to turn a river around by yelling really loud.
anyhoo, needless to say apparently it was *my* fault. and i'm like "what i just wanted to pick my desk, *they* just decided to follow"
ah well. it was fun trying.
(the important thing is that i got my seat anyways - i can't begin to explain how important )

I have to admit...I always had one particular desk or seat I had to sit in as well when I went to class. So...lookout! That happened in every course I took. Very OCD, yes?

I can't believe that I'm admitting to that one too!
Lunch table & seat at the table
Parking space
Treadmill at the gym (I'm very possessive of a few of the treadmills)

You can never be too OCD/superstitious/prepared when it comes to taking tests. I usually dress very nicely for my finals (DORK!). It makes me feel a little more confident. And above all else, you just have to be comfortable.

actually i do it for everything... i mean you don't just *buy* a house, you need to evaluate the ups and downs first. why should a bus seat be any different?
oh and i'll never wear sweats to an exam for the simple fact that i won't wear them in class. you don't want to feel differently come exam time. it could distract you.

also wanted to add that it's hard to be surrounded by "followers"... you're a leader, obviously (whether by design or not) so that's good.
how do you think you did, incidentally?
