Posted: 02/15/06 - 23:28 Post subject: a pleasant surprise and LESS anxiety.....Update
I've been driving a 1995 Ford Escort Wagon with over 200,000 miles. Inspection due in March 2006 and some things that would most likely cost me a hunk of change....I went looking for something new. My credit union suggested Enterprise Car Sales because they have worked with them in the past. I made an appointment for this evening. I had no intention of buying, but I drove home in a 2004 Dodge Neon with 34,000 miles. It was a great deal in a really good program.
and yes, I got a RED one with black interior.
it keeps smiling at me.

I've got a 2001 Neon, and it's been a great car. It's currently pushing 70,000 miles, and I hope it lasts another 70,000.

So there is no problem with the Neon, right?

In order to drive that car home wednesday evening, I had to get approved for the loan right there at the car lot. They just get it wherever they can, knowing that I was planning on using my credit union. The loan application came through this morning, so not only is the car officially mine, it's at a lower interest rate and monthly payment. Plus, I can have the payment deducted directly from my paycheck.

thanks. it's an odd feeling to not worry about whether it will start, or the transmission will fall out, etc. I just kept thinking that with over 200,000 miles something would be happening at any time. of course, now I'm worried about where I park, and whether the car in the other lane is going to come over too soon......
oh, and this is automatic, I prefer manual transmission. I've caught myself trying to shift
