so this weekend was the first braking clinic at Piedmoint Park in over 4 years. (or longer ) so i had several patrollers shoe up for an expectedly slow day since it was out first. since we all however had on a basic uniform (red shirt black pants/shorts) we were noticed an an entity and approached by many. we were asked lot of questions and gave around 10-12 lessons.
the big payoff was we had 6 people from Saturday show up for the Sunday street skate. these were folks that did not need lessons but due to the exposure learned of the club and came out and joined us. Tonight i expect to see a few of them out and join in the night skates.
the cult is growing
i hope we can keep this momentum up for the whole summer and incease the number of skaters within the club while increasing saftey, ettiqute as well as awareness to skating.

the lessons are FREE!!!
it's the starter to get people off to a safe start. The National Skate Patrol is a volunteer organization that teaches the basics only in a short lesson.
we get certified to teach by a certified intructor of intructors. Some of the patrollers to teach on the side for profit i however never have and i doubt i ever will. i enjoy the sport too much and want it opened to anyone that can afford the equipment. no need to charge for what i would tell a friend, i hope that they will soon be one.
