El I was frustrated with you reading this story! But couldn't help but laugh when I got to the end. You poor thing! Hopefully the paramedic will be home soon because the two of you had such crappy weeks!

give me the section number on your ticket and pm the officers name to me. I will see what I can do.

Look for the section under violation. If you want I will make a call.

I can only read the badge #, not dude's name (though I've named him appropriately Evil or Very Mad ). I will pay my fine and leave it behind me, despite the fact this guy scared the crap out of me and harassed me.

I bet you were in Horsham, those cops are real mofo's who would give their damn mothers tickets!!!! Does it say on the ticket what township you were in?

Wasn't this race starting at the Y on Bethlehem Pike??? I wonder where you turned wrong?

The first problem was the directions said take the Fort Washington turnpike exit and turn right onto Pennsylvania Avenue. Never heard of that road, and the only options you have are turn right onto 309N or left onto 309S, so I went north when I should have gone south. They should have said turn off onto 309S and then bust a left onto Norristown Road - the way I went home - and I would've been there quite early. It started at the Wissahickon High School, which no one really knew existed. Incident occurred in Lower Gwynedd Township.

What if you seem to be pulling over and turning, I am riding my bike so I go to your left because you seem to be pulling over, and you cut into my lane without knowing I'm there?

But, again, we've all been there, and the cop may have been needlessly rude. But cut him some slack.

I turned left, so no need to look behind me, so I wouldn't have knocked you off your bike. I would've looked had I been turning right, though, like I always do and still wouldn't have knocked you off. I don't have a problem paying tickets for things I do wrong, but I STILL don't know why I was pulled over. If the guy would've been nice about it, I wouldn't have reacted so strongly. A little niceness goes a long way, on both sides of the equation.

Explains a lot. LG can be a real snotfest, a lot of wealthy people in that area. Yech. PA Avenue is actually the road that the turnpike dumps out on (if you go past the 309S exit to Oreland) but it isn't labeled as such when you get off. All the hotels are actually on PA Avenue but I can see where you were confused. Wissahickon High School is on some back road, the name of which escapes me now, but it's off Bethlehem Pike. That was kinda an ass-backwards way to take you, because you could go up to the end of PA Ave and then hang a right onto Bethlehem Pike and the road for the school is off to the left, & that West German Imports dealer is right on the corner you need to turn on, but not being from up here I can easily see where you'd have no clue. I have a lot of family in that area and it is not far from where I go to school.

If you do ever decide to brave the burbs again, PM me and I'll take a look at your directions, K? Smile Forbidden Drive, for the Run for the Hill of It, will be much easier to get to, I promise!

The Paramedic went to graduate school up that way, so I'm quite familiar with the area. Plus it's in the city, so I will have no problems finding it. It's just those pesky non-Central Park NYC and suburbia runs that get me!

I'm so sorry to hear that, elk. I'd have given you different (and better) directions. I kept looking for you and feeling badly that I wasn't seeing you.

Would it make you feel any better to know that when I went to drop off my registration, I also got terrible directions from the YMCA and had to stop a couple times to figure it out?

Next year, you can stop at my house first and we can go together. 104 smacks is totally ludicrous.

The bridge on Germantown Pike is out, just so you know....so it's detoured. If you want, just check in with me with which way you're coming because you won't be able to come straight up GT Pike past the college like normal. Although I don't think the detour is that bad, I think it goes up Bell's Mill Road or something like that. I come from the other way, Plynouth Meeting, so it doesn't affect me.

the funny thing is, is that there are 79.00 in fees associated with the fine. The polticos love to tack on those fees, in lieu of raising taxes etc.

The po po only get 1/2 of the fine, in this case it is 12.50, so we do not use it to generate revenue.
