apparently i get to renew my drivers license not only in september, but again in january.
i will then renew my drivers license each year, exactly 4 months after my birthdate.
this is for my convenience.
...or so i'm told.
call me crazy but i think it's easier for me to remember my birthday than it is to remember four months FROM my birthday - and the fact that it's post-christmas when i would prefer to have my money for other things.
anyway, the great news is i get a new picture today. so i should probably spruce myself up a bit before i head out.

How odd. We folks in Pennsylvania USA get to renew our drivers licence on our birthday...every five years. It's structured that way for our convenience.

that sounds fairly convenient. i don't mind paying the fee each year. i have no qualms.
but january?
like i needed one more reason to go outside in january when it's effin' cold out. i'll probably get in a car accident on the way there.

I have to renew mine this coming November...though I was told that my next new license will last me a few years longer than my present one.

so the newspaper finally explained it today -
the license renewal happens on the same day as your Autopac approval (car insurance).
so maybe it is more convenient for people.
