Alright folks. Here's a rough schedule of events:

Saturday
-for those around, we will plan on meeting at 3:30 at the expo. It's not a super huge place, so we should be able to find each other. Let's say we'll meet at the main doors into the expo room itself. That should be easy enough, I think.

For those that should be there prior, why don't we meet at the hotel lobby at 3:00, and walk down to the Monona Terrace for the Expo together?

-Dinner is set for 6:30pm at Gino's, located at 540 State Street, a few blocks from the hotel. If you would like to go straight there, that's fine, but if you'd like to walk down as a group, let's meet in the lobby at the Best Western at 6pm sharp. It is a little bit of a walk, but that should give us enough time.

Sunday
If you'd like to meet up before the race (specifically if you are planning on running with someone), meet just outside the front entrance to the Best Western. The races start just up the street on the square, so it will be handy.

-Half Marathon starts at 7:38
-5k and 10k start at 7:45

After the races, we can all meet up for a picture near the finish line. Everyone can then go get cleaned up, and we can plan a time we want to meet to head for the zoo (for those going). You can either grab lunch on your own, or we can find something that direction.

Sunday Evening
The elders will hit the streets of MadTown for some post race celebration and libation. There are several bars within a couple of blocks of the hotel, so wecan just stick around there. We can talk about meeting time before that, depending on how everyone feels, but meeting at the hotel lobby will be perfect.

If you see any problems with this schedule, please let me know. Can't wait to see/meet you all!!!

Randy

p.s. Here's the list I have. Please note any changes if I've missed someone, or added too many. Thanks!

-Shelee (2)
-genie (6)

I'm collecting cellphone numbers in case people get lost, so PM me if I don't already have yours and I'll give you mine also. It's easier with a big group.

Rando, great job on the arrangements!!! This weekend is gonna rock.
Can someone make this a sticky thread so it doesn't get lost??

I'll be too busy drinking, yo.

But seriously, I'm sure we'll all find a suitable place in the area for some pre-drinking snacks, EL...

I guess I hadn't even figured in dinner. I was more thinking the zoo was paired with lunch. Do we want to meet somewhere for dinner, too, and tie it in with bar-hopping? Or bring the kiddies to dinner, and then hop? Doesn't matter to me. There are tons of good places to eat within walking distance of the hotel, so I'm not too concerned. Of course, with such a large group, it might be hard to all sit together...

BTW, we are up to 26 for Sat dinner! My bro, Ben, and his girlfriend, Sara, are in!

Sweet!!! Looks to be a great crowd.

My on Sunday--we could just find a pub or Pizza? joint somewhere close to the hotel to get a quickie lunch after we get cleaned up from the race, then head to the zoo and play it by ear from there. For those not going to the zoo, perhaps the locals could suggest places for them for dinner.

Lunch will be late anyway by the time we collect everyone after the half, take pics, and clean up, but I do think those of us out for the night should have some other form of solids in our stomachs before a long night of boozing. We can always tie the "dinner" part into the bar hopping....and try to get everyone together for lunch after the race at least, since I know some people are leaving on Sunday.

Quick poll: who is in for the zoo trip?

I'm in for the zoo, if'n I stick around for it. It's looking pretty good right now that I'll be skipping Tracy's sister's grad party. Tracy knows how excited I've been for this weekend and how long it's been planned. Her sister picked the date only a couple of weeks ago, and I said up front that I wouldn't be there if it was Sunday. I'm just getting the whole guilt trip-gone for the whole weekend deal right now. But, I'm planning on being around at all costs.

I keep forgetting to ask, how close is the zoo to where we're staying? Is it walkable or are we going to have to carpool??

Also, can some of those staying in town make their rooms available to those who are not, for showers after the race? I lost my roomie since Kristin isn't going, so anyone's welcome to use mine to clean up.

The zoo is a definite carpool away. We'll have to meet at the hotel or something, and go from there.

Why do you need to go to the zoo? I was under the impression Riff Raffers were a pretty good pack of wild animals. Razz
