The liner is to prevent the water from penetrating the concrete. Concrete is pourous. The pool water would leak out very slowly over time in a concrete pool without a liner, soften the earth around it and create forces on the concrete it couldn't handle. Theoretically. |

Now what would the aggregate content of that concrete be? Would there be welded or tied rebar imbeded? What about the depth of compacted stone in the base? I assume that there would be an embeded copper rod lightning ground grid? Sand filter or entire filtration system with pumphouse? Has the soil undergone a compaction test? What is the soil content? Sand, Loose soil, Clay or a mix? Was there a perk test to determine if a leak would undermine the concrete?
Now lets discuss local codes and ordinances like fencing, warning signs, proximity warning devices and watertight lighting.
Sheesh...I should charge by the hour for this.......

I don't think that's appropriate subject matter on a first date. I don't even think of discussing rebar until the 4th or 5th date. A discussion about embedding rods would be even more inappropriate.

Let's not even go into the inappropriateness of borings for geotechnical purposes! I mean, really.
We have a date andy!
