said my Patrol Lt. to me on my way out the door. I forgot to pass off a routine message to the oncoming duty Sgt and he reamed me out as I was walking out the door. He said I will speak to you tomorrow about it.
He called 30 minutes prior to the end of our shift and we have lots of activity and a few calls to clear up and it completely slipped my mind
goodness get over yourself. He must be pretty mad if he is coming in on his day off to yell at me for not passing on the message. Um sorry Lt.
by the way the message was have the oncoming duty sgt call me as soon as he gets in. THe sgt already knew why he was calling anyway.
I called my Sgt just to let her know and she cant believe he is even taking the time to address this and come in on his day off.
He is a brand new Lt trying to prove himself. If we can't earn his respect darnit we will respect him no matter what.
like I need him to rant for 15 minutes over this.

that is the extent of it. I made no excuses, though I had valid reasons, I owned up to my mistake, and it was the end of it.

I've dealt with brandy new supervisors who think they are the only people in the world with the required knowledge.
Just his way of showing you who the boss is. Let it go but make sure he gets EVERY message (no matter how stupid).
