So began another rant by my MIL about how no one in the 21st century is anywhere near as good a parent as she and her husband are.
People at the campground they stayed at on the weekend were LETTING THEIR CHILDREN RIDE THEIR BIKES ON THE ACCESS ROAD BETWEEN SITES. The horror. And they were just babies too, although from the level her hand was at when she said babies I guess babies are four feet tall now. And when they tried to pull the trailer through moms told their kids to stop and pull over, but didn't run out and use their bodies to block progress of the truck and trailer until they could shield all the little ones under their wing.

That's OK. I'll take anything relatively sharp at this point. The bitter irony is that both their sons barely survived childhood due to a variety of unsupervised stupidity-based accidents.

What you don't get is...
Everyone I know thinks they do the best job raising their kids and better than everyone else. Everyone who has raised kids tell me they did it better than I could ever do. So I guess that makes me the biggest loser in Parenting101 ever.
So, let's put this on the record today:
"I am not the best parent in the world, nor will I ever be as good as everyone else claims to have been. I will try to get these kids raised and still have them living until they're 18 when they can move out. If you're perfect, are raising perfect children or have raised perfect children...STAY AWAY FROM ME! I'll jinx ya for sure. Oh and kiss my a$$."
I'd take let it go in one ear and out the other. I really don't give a crap what people have to say anymore. That's just my

I do believe your parenting style is perfect.....
My parenting goal is to raise good decent kids who are productive members of society. So far I've been pretty successful. They aren't gonna be Harvard grads or pro athletes but I don't care and neither do they.

i'm sensing that her elementary school was at least 10 miles from her home and that she walked everyday in the snow.

10 miles? That's skimping it RR. I'm sure it was 100+ miles, in the snow, uphill, with 20 pounds of books to carry...all the while she was the perfect child.

I have a brother in law who dispenses parenting advice freely and constantly.
So, if you are ever in doubt as to what to do with your children--call him--he'll definitely tell you how to manage it. His advice is miraculous because he has answers for every scenario, even though he may not have gone through that particular scenario.
Also, don't bother calling if you have only one child, as I do, because as EVERYONE knows, you are not really a parent if you have ONLY one child.
And, just so you know, you are raising totally wasted degenerates if you don't follow his advice.
His phone number should you need it: 1800azc-lown.

Just tell her she's right, that all her children are perfect. And as an example, tell her your husband's in-laws are far nicer than yours.

Man! And I was about to praise every parent out there on earth who decided only to have one child! Not that I don't love all three of mine, but it would be nice to have only one of them at a time at times. Your BIL and I would definitley clash on our opposing thoughts, yes?

My BIL clash, too. But, according to him, I'm a bad parent anyway.
I think till we have walked a mile in each other's shoes there's no way in hell we should be judging. God made all our personalities different for a reason. Different kiddos need different parenting styles.
