Posted: 06/03/05 - 13:55 Post subject: "Distracted Drivers"
Last night one of our off duty officers called me about an erratic driver who could not maintain his lane. We were able to stop the car after a few minutes and the driver was completely sober.
Of course his female companion was taking a "breath test" of her own that was causing the male driver's erratic driving.
The official report I wrote up said,
| official police report wrote: | | The male became distracted while driving and had trouble maintaining his lane. Once he regained control he was able to leave the area without further incident |
we had a good laugh on this one.
this is the kind of stuff you do not see but wish you did on "COPS"

That would be hilarious in the Police Log if you were actually descriptive
5:50pm - shop lifting reported at local store
6:20pm - vandalism of flower pots reported at The Green Thumb
7:05pm - man swerving in road due to <censored>

I forgot to add, that our Female Sgt, never questioned the report and was okay with the way it was written up. We were shocked. She would have laughed at the way it read, knowing the real story.

That was very diplomatic, Joe. 'Stuff' covers a lot of ground, doesn't it?
