You guys always come through on requests like these so I'm mustering up all the good vibes and power I can get right now.....
My new sweetie's mother has nasopharyngeal cancer--basically tumors in the throat/sinus area which are very, very close to her brain. So far they haven't spread there or her lymph nodes, for which we're very grateful. The docs have been dicking around with starting radiation, which is first line treatment for this type of cancer and she's been getting worse, in a lot of pain and doped up most of the time, for about a month now waiting for them to get going. We've all been very frustrated-because of HIPPA it's been difficult for anyone else to talk to the doctor and she really doesn't have much clue what's going on either. Apparently they have to watch where they shoot the radiation because if it hits her brain instead of the tumors it can kill her instantly. She's terrified, understandably so, and I spent over an hour today on the phone trying to calm her down. 
I just heard from her a bit ago and she said the doctor finally called her back and he didn't like the way she sounded--it's starting to affect her vocal chords and we're afraid it has spread. So he's starting treatments tomorrow morning. Needless to say she's scared sh*tless--this is a woman who for two weeks has been afraid to go to sleep for fear she won't wake up. If you pray, or however you pray, please pray for her that all goes well tomorrow and that she finds the strength to fight this and win. Her name is Edna--she's the sweetest person evah and she's toooooo young to be having to face her own mortality already. Your good thoughts, vibes and prayers for her are VERY much appreciated by us both. Thanks gang.....
