My Mom, not very, however she does have an e-mail account that she checks fairly regularly.
My Dad used the internet when he first got the computer, however, I don't think he's logged on since the first six months. (They got a computer with access about 7 years ago.)

My mom has had a computer for about a year now. She's learned alot and does really good. Dad refuses to be in the same room as the computer.

Let's not go there.
I guess somebody has to click on all of those popups and reply to spam.

Mom & Stepdad: Been going strong for years. Send too many political jokes though.
Dad: Just started email in the last year and it's great! We are now able to communicate much more than ever!

Both my parents are. My dad has had internet access since 1997. He does a lot of stuff via the 'net (bill paying, banking, stock buy/sell, etc.) He has been having trouble with his email program (Eudora) so I converted everything to Outlook Express. I have to go over tonight and give him some OE tutoring. He even has a digital camera, and is able to do a lot with that.

It's great that you are computer literate. I need to learn OE and other things simple to others (ie. shrinking that 'nole pic, digital camera).
I didn't see my Dad much as a child and email has been a great resource for us to get to know one another much better. We seem to be much closer than we have been. He even emails my oldest and puts effort into being a super Grandpa. So, the internet has become a great thing in some respects.

Mom really wants to learn (she is a big letter writer, and loves the idea of email). She never seems to have the time, though.

At 76, my dad uses the Internet for emailing distant family and doing research for stuff. He prints out the emails for my mom. I don't think she has ever used the internet but she does use the computer for other things.

Biggest mistake EVAR! Switch back to Eudora now before he gets a worm/virus.
/proud Eudora user since way back.
My mom is pretty good with the internet/e-mail. She's good enough to scan and e-mail me stuff. Sometimes she gets a little uppity and starts changing sutff she shouldn't be messing with and then I have to walk her through correcting it.

My mom does pretty well and has email down to a science.
My dad with his masters degree in mechanical engineering, mba and mensa membership doesn't even know how to log on to the internet, or play solitaire for that matter.

My mom is a programmer and my dad is a computer dork just as a hobby. They are in their 60s and know more than I do about any computer. My extended family as a whole communicates almost completely via email.
