I do remember we had a dot matrix printer that always jammed,

We still have a dot matrix printer in our office. It prints a whole line at a time and it's L-O-U-D!

My software development company supports the longterm care pharmacy industry, where the dot matrix printer is a STANDARD. Shocked Talk about taking a technological leap backward.

First comp was a second-hand Commodore 64 that I hooked up to a T. V. I had no storage, so I'd write or type/copy programs, use 'em awhile, then have to lose 'em. Frustrating, but FUN!

My husband's first was his brother's VIC 20 -- eventually he got an Apple IIGS. He still has it -- in fact, when we got together, we were using it as a word processor for school and to play games like Wizardry.

In 1998(?) I spent my settlement in a bike vs. car suit to get a PC. It was a total ripoff from a local dude who made a huge profit from building a catalog comp, but we really didn't know better at the time. It was a PII 333 with 128MB RAM, Windows 95c (USB support), cruddy Creative AWE64 soundcard, and a Voodoo II video card. My husband just gave away that proc to a cow-orkers wife. Heh. The best part of the deal was the case, which is on my comp now -- with a better power supply.

I couldn't begin to account for a the franken-computers we've made since then. At one point, I was a fiend for overclocking and whatnot -- now I'm happy with a system that will let me play the latest games and handle graphics/color well.

Once upon a time, I was training for A+ certification and taking MCSE courses -- I still fix computers...just got very discouraged with the "official" certification tracks. One taste of corporate cubicle land and I was so ovah wanting to be in IT.

Our family had some sort of TI (I think) thing when I was reaaally little that my dad just recently got a decent chunk of change for, I vaguely remember my sisters doing some sort of paintshop on it? Then was a TI thing that had an actual key board (both of the above used the tv) on which we played Mario Brothers and Burger Time....then a couple Commodore 64's came along, one which used the TV, one that was super fancy with its own monitor... (Winter Games, Test Drive and Tooth Invaders anyone? Mr. Green ) Then we went through various PC's blah blah blah. MY first computer was a 386 with Windows 3.1 I had that along with my bag phone, yeah yeah yeah until about '99. Embarassed

I have clue zero as to what it was. The guy who sold it to me told me, as he got it out of the back of his car trunk, it had some nebulous connection to Gateway.
